The Atonement of Christ

We believe that the vicarious penal substitutionary blood atonement in the death of Christ at the cross of Calvary is the only available and effective sacrifice for the sins of every person.

We believe that this atonement does not result in salvation without a person’s free response of repentance and faith. God does not impose or withhold this atonement without respect to an act of the person’s free will. Christ did not die only for the sins of those who will be saved but for all people.
